TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — UPDATE – 5:42 p.m 07/01/22
Tucson Police Department has notified KGUN 9 that South Kolb Road is currently closed in both directions between East Irvington Road and East Valencia Road due to flooding.
This will be an extended closure, according to TPD. Drivers will need to find alternate routes.
UPDATE – 5:16 p.m.07/01/22:
Flash Flood Warnings have been issued in the following areas:
- Northwest Tucson and surrounding areas
- Foothills area, Central Tucson, Rita Ranch and Vail
- Tucson Estates, west of Tucson (Areal Flood Advisory)
UPDATE – 4:20 p.m. 07/01/22:
The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a Flash Flood Warning in the area until 6:45 p.m.
Ina Road at Christie Drive, just east of Oracle Road, is closed due to flooding in the Pima Wash, according to Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
PCSD anticipates traffic delays and are encouraging drivers to find alternate routes.
The storm in the Oro Valley area produced up to an inch and a half of rain.

Daily storm chances today through the 4th of July, with a slight decrease over the weekend.
Tucson will see a 30 to 40% chance for storms this afternoon and evening, with slightly better chances south and east of our area.
Showers and thunderstorms will remain present each afternoon and evening across southeast Arizona with plenty of moisture in place.
High temperatures will remain near to slightly below normal.
